  • Dragon Ball Game News From E3

Some game news from E3 via press releases.

Looks like the new Dragon Ball related games will be published directly by Namco-Bandai and be Atari free.

Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans, for the Nintendo DS. This one is the Kai RPG (guess that tells us if Funi secretly has Kai yet or not.)

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast, for the 360/PS3. This is a fighting/action game that is in the style of Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking.

Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo, for the Wii. This is a sidescrolling platform action game, that we first told you about here on FBR far far earlier in the year before it was fully known what the game was yet.

All three games are scheduled for release this fall

  • Dragonball Evolution… Variant Boxart?

Looks like the DVD and Blu-ray for Evolution will have slightly different coverart (I’m sure many people will just jump at the chance to get variant coverart for such a…. fine…. piece of entertainment.

Here are the different covers for the 5 of you that are interested.

Just fantastic, I’m sure Goku’s flexed arm will be the toast of the industry.

Comes out on July 28th, and it appears people who get the Blu-ray will also get a Digital Copy.

  • Digimon: Data Squad- Collection One, Early Look/Review

Digimon in the USA has always had an odd history.  Never quite getting a real release for any of it’s seasons on DVD (minus a single DVD for the first season released nearly a decade ago that had over 10 episodes stuffed onto it and the first three films in their ‘edited into one film for the USA’ version on a different DVD) Well Go USA has teamed up with Toei USA to bring boxsets of the newest season to the USA.

After some lackluster online streaming and video on demand offerings recently, let’s see if this is finally a Digimon release fans can get behind and enjoy.

  • Dragonball Evolution… Z?

Oh boy, everyone is gonna love this….

Apparently Fox is prepping a new/different (maybe it’s the foreign cut?) of Dragonball Evolution for home video, and it will be called….

    Dragonball Evolution: Z-Edition

I’m trying not to laugh, but…. lol

edit- Having watched a screener of the “Z-Edition” film with two other staff members, I think it’s probably likely that “Z-Edition” is just what they will be calling the DVD instead of special edition, or any other name and not necessarily signifying a new cut of the movie. Will update if we get any more info on it.

  • Dragonball Z: Broly Triple Feature (Blu-ray), Early Look/Review

Wow, we already have an American anime Blu-ray getting a double dip (well mostly anyways).  Here we are again with yet another Broly Blu-ray.  The original ‘prototype’ Blu-ray disk had quite a few problems.

  • Interview- Viz Pictures

Time for our first interview.  First one is some questions answered by the fine folks at Viz Pictures.  I helped come up with the questions with our new staff member Kevin, who got the interview with Viz Pictures set up.  You guys should get to see some reviews and other articles from him soon.

The second Bleach movie, The DiamondDust Rebellion (not sure if it’s one word or two for DiamondDust…) is currently being dubbed with the intention of a release later this year.

  • Naruto Shippuden Movie Dub News

    shippudenmovie1

The first Naruto Shippuden Movie is getting a dub that is being worked on as we speak.

Wesley Crusher himself is playing someone in it.

We really should be hearing something about the Shippuden dub soon, they’ve been working on it for quite awhile at this point.

edit- Already mentioned Wesley being in it, but just noticed Wil Wheaton himself mentioned it on his twitter earlier today.
