It appears WEP will be doing the Voltron 3d DVDs themselves and selling them via the official Voltron/WEP store. And the DVDs are… maybe being worked on right now?
Another year, another Naruto movie on DVD. This time it’s based on Shippuden though, so everyone is a little older and a little wiser (well not really wiser…)
Shonen movies are always stuck in that loop of wanting to be ‘the big movie’ version of a show, and then having to reset to point zero at the end. Let’s see how the newest Naruto movie does.
Back again, and this time with a bloody treat, Blassreiter. One of the original simulcasts is finally getting a DVD release. After the show was given out for free, does the DVD deserve a place on your shelf?
Instead of my normal comment, a small warning. Look at the cover art. If the cover art makes you a bit creeped out, just consider… this is the American cover art. If this is what we get for the cover, imagine the content of the show itself… but for the rest of you, it may be a ride worth catching ( and aha!, fought the effort to make a motorcycle joke!) Also, after the jump is the entire first episode embedded for your viewing pleasure via Gonzo’s Youtube channel, and Funimation Video is also streaming the entire series subtitled (along with a few dub episodes as a preview.) Just giving everyone an update. There were far more entries than I expected and I’m still going through them ranking and re-ranking to find my personal favorites.
I hope to announce a winner on Friday (although it may be on Sunday at the latest.)
Just letting everyone know what was going on. (Just as an example, there are ten times as many entries as the last contest.)
It’s time for more Naruto. Last time we left the precocious ninja children, Naruto was leaving the village to spend a few years training to prepare to fight the villains everyone knows is coming.
The characters are a little bit older, so does a few years skipped lead to anything good? (For anyone who wants to watch, the first episode subbed is embedded at the very bottom of the review.) Continue reading →
Contest closed a few days ago. I will be going over all entries over the weekend and get in contact with the winners, and I’ll be sure to post the winners and some of my personal favorites.
And based on if I’m able to get out to where I need to be to make it happen, may be a special early review tomorrow for shonen fans.
The second Bleach movie is getting it’s American release almost a year after the first. This time around the movie sticks it’s focus on a known character.
Does this two disk package hold the Bleach name up high? Or does Bleach The Movie 2: The DiamondDust Rebellion need a good bit of white out (ah, back to the bad jokes!) Let’s find out. Continue reading →
Only one prize I’m admitting to at the moment, but there’s a few more.
The prize is…
Season 1 of Dragon Ball on DVD.
This time around, the way to enter is…
Tell me your favorite ‘thing’ from Dragon Ball, DBZ, or DBGT… and by thing, I mean anything. Story, character, toy, game, a piece of art… anything you can think of.
(It’ll help your entry out if you explain your choice.)
My favorite answer will get their choice of the announced prize, or a few other prizes. First place gets their choice, then second place, and we keep going until no more prizes are left, same as last time.
Please send contest entries to contests@fanboyreview.net. Please only enter once. In your email include your answer and your name and address. Contest ends at 11:59pm (Pacific) on September 15th, 2009 (that’s a Tuesday).

Lucky Star returns for one last… well not sure I’d call Lucky Star an adventure… but Lucky Star is back for one more go round (that works).
A few months after the series has ended we get about another episode and a half. With a bit of time having passed, is Lucky Star still the bright shining star we remember? Continue reading →
