Hey, Sports fans! It looks like the time has come for me to make my debut on the FBR, so I am going to kick things off with the 1999 animated series Blue Gender, which was localized by Funimation in the US between 2001 and 2003.

So apparently one of Bandai USA’s new DBZ toys is an electronic game where you connect a Goku and a Piccolo figure to electronic handles and press buttons to make them flail about and scream battle action phrases while battling them.

The issue with it is WHERE the connector points are…

I really enjoy the Shin-Chan dub. I normally prefer dubs to be as close as reasonably possible (although as long as the subs are uncut I don’t mind some rewriting and such in the dub). Shin-Chan on DVD is technically an ‘edited’ release, but I just love it so much.

Woo, first review, and a couple days before the set is officially out also.

School Rumble is a show I really enjoy.  The singles released between late 2007 through the middle of 2008 had quite a few flaws in regards to video though.  Funimation has changed a show released as six singles into a boxset with five disks, so let’s take a look at what’s changed, what’s better, what’s worse, and what is the same. The one thing that was mentioned at the Funimation panel of interest is the Dragonball GT Season 1 set will be 5 disks.  Since the set is 32 episodes and the solicitation info at quite a few stores said 3 disks people started to get a bit worried about video compression.  5 disks should be fine for 32 episodes though, let’s just hope that like the trailer shows, lets hope these episodes aren’t cropped like DBZ was.

The first day of Otakon’s panels is beginning to come to a close and as for announcements….

Nadda.

Nothing was really announced, I guess you could count Saber Rider (although no one I know was at the Voltron/Saber Rider panel, so I have no idea if anything was actually announced there), but that was announced yesterday.

At the Media Blasters panel some people brought up Gaogaigar Final and nothing concrete was said one way or the other.  Funimation’s panel was largely just going over stuff we already knew.  I guess whatever ‘thing’ Gen had mentioned in quite a few recent interviews isn’t ready to be announced yet, hopefully soon.

Let’s hope we get some interesting news in the next couple of days.
